Matthew 7: 1-14

Key Scriptures: Matthew 7:1-14, Hosea 6:6, Romans 5:6

Hosea 6:6
I want you to show love,
not offer sacrifices.
I want you to know me
more than I want burnt offerings.

Don’t Judge Me

Matthew 6:33 – 7:2
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.

Matthew 7:6
“Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.

Seek and Find

Matthew 7:7-8
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Romans 5:6
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

The Golden Rule

Matthew 7:12
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets

Matthew 7:14
But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

Take Away
• Look for opportunities to be the salt and the light to those around you.
• Rather than finding fault in the people around you. Look for ways to make their life better by shining a light on Jesus, not ourselves
