ABOUT F260
The Discover Point Church family is reading through the Bible in 2023 and we are excited to see how God will grow our church closer to the Lord and each other through this spiritual discipline! We’ll be using the F260 Bible Reading plan that will guide you through the Bible – from Genesis to Revelation – in one year, in just 5 days per week. There are reading plans for adults, students, and kids, to provide age-specific readings and memory verses.
Along with the Bible reading plan, many of our DP Groups –will use curriculum that corresponds with the weekly reading; and will allow participants to process, dig deeper, and debrief together each week. Participant guides will be provided to offer guidance throughout the week and allow Group members to not only prepare to participate in their Groups or simply absorb the readings, but apply them to their daily lives.
Our journey through God’s word together will help us make disciples who are disciple-makers.
H.E.A.R. JOURNALING
The H.E.A.R. journaling method promotes reading the Bible with a life-transforming purpose. No longer will your
focus be on checking off the boxes on your daily reading schedule; your purpose will instead be to read in order to
understand and respond to God’s Word.
The acronym H.E.A.R. stands for Highlight, Explain, Apply, and Respond. Each of these four steps contributes to creating an atmosphere to hear God speak.
As you read through the Bible, use these four questions to help guide you.
• H (HIGHLIGHT): What is a verse(s) that stood out to you in your reading?
• E (EXPLAIN): What is the author’s intended meaning in the context of the passage?
• A (APPLY): What is the principle to live by today?
• R (RESPOND): How will I respond to the application in my relationships and/or situations this week?
